Mentor Standards
Last updated: March 18, 2026 · What GuidedD expects from every mentor on the platform.
GuidedD is a curated mentorship platform. We hold our mentors to a high standard — not because we doubt your experience, but because the women who come to us deserve thoughtful, honest, and professional guidance. These standards protect mentors, mentees, and the trust that makes GuidedD work.
1. What We Look For
GuidedD mentors are experienced professionals who bring real-world perspective, honesty, and care to every session. We are not built around traditional coaching or consulting. We are looking for mentors whose perspective comes from lived professional experience and real decisions they have made themselves.
Real Experience
You have navigated the situations you mentor on — not just read about them. Your perspective comes from doing, not advising.
Honest Guidance
You offer honest guidance, even when the conversation is difficult. Mentees trust you to give them a real perspective, not just reassurance.
Presence
You show up prepared, on time, and fully present. A session is not casual — it is a commitment you take seriously.
Discretion
What a mentee shares stays between you. You do not discuss session content outside the platform or use it for any other purpose.
2. Session Standards
Every GuidedD session must meet the following minimum standards:
- Punctuality: Join on time. If you are more than 5 minutes late without notice, the mentee is entitled to a full refund.
- Full duration: Sessions must run for their full booked time. Ending early without completing the session is a policy violation.
- Video required: All sessions are video-based. Audio-only sessions are not permitted unless approved in advance by GuidedD.
- Professional environment: Conduct sessions in a quiet, professional setting. Background noise, interruptions, or distractions reflect on the platform.
- Preparation: Review any information the mentee has shared before the session. Come ready to engage thoughtfully, not to spend the session getting oriented.
3. Communication Standards
Mentors are expected to communicate professionally and promptly throughout the booking process.
- Respond to session requests within 48 hours by accepting, declining, or sending a clear reply through the platform.
- If you need to cancel, do so with as much notice as possible — never less than 24 hours before the session unless there is a genuine emergency.
- If a mentee cancels, do not contact them outside the platform unless GuidedD has expressly allowed that communication.
- Do not use GuidedD messaging to share personal contact information or solicit ongoing relationships outside the platform.
- All bookings, cancellations, reschedules, and session-related communication must take place through GuidedD's approved platform tools unless GuidedD directs otherwise.
4. Platform Integrity
GuidedD exists because of the trust mentees place in it. Mentors are expected to actively protect that trust.
- No off-platform solicitation: You may not use a GuidedD connection to arrange sessions, payments, or ongoing mentorship relationships outside the platform. This applies even if the mentee initiates it.
- No off-platform payments: Mentors may not request, accept, or encourage payment outside the GuidedD platform for any session that originated through GuidedD.
- No dual relationships: Do not use GuidedD to recruit mentees as clients, employees, business partners, or referral sources.
- No professional advice: Do not provide specific investment, tax, legal, medical, mental health, or other professional advice. Mentors may share perspective and experience, but not individualized recommendations that require licensed professional judgment.
- No promotional use: Do not use sessions or your GuidedD profile to promote services, products, courses, or other businesses you are affiliated with.
5. Boundaries
Mentors must maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times. GuidedD is not a dating, therapy, or recruiting platform, and it should not be used to build transactional relationships outside mentorship. Mentors may be warm and supportive, but should not create dependency, pressure mentees into continued contact, or blur the line between mentorship and personal involvement.
6. Confidentiality
Session content is private. As a mentor, you are expected to:
- Treat everything a mentee shares as confidential.
- Not discuss, reference, or share session content with anyone outside GuidedD, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to address safety concerns.
- Not use a mentee’s personal situation, goals, or disclosures for any purpose beyond the session itself.
GuidedD does not record sessions. What happens in a session should stay there.
7. How GuidedD Enforces These Standards
GuidedD may review reports, complaints, platform activity, and other relevant information when evaluating possible violations of these standards. Depending on the severity, pattern, and risk involved, GuidedD may issue a warning, suspend a mentor, limit platform access, cancel sessions, or remove a mentor from the platform.
To help protect mentees and maintain trust on the platform, GuidedD may request additional information to verify a mentor's identity, professional background, or eligibility to participate. In some cases, this may include a background check or other screening step. GuidedD reserves the right to require this review before approval, after approval, or in response to a complaint, concern, or platform safety issue.
Some conduct — including false credentials, unsafe behavior, harassment, fraud, or off-platform solicitation — may result in immediate removal without prior warning. GuidedD reserves the right to take action it believes is necessary to protect mentees, mentors, and the platform.
When in doubt, reach out before acting. We would rather help a mentor navigate an uncertain situation than address a problem after the fact.
8. Profile Accuracy
Your GuidedD profile must accurately reflect your background, experience, and current role. Misrepresentation — including exaggerating credentials, omitting relevant conflicts of interest, or using a false identity — is grounds for immediate removal. You must also disclose any material conflict of interest that could affect a mentee's trust in your guidance.
If your professional situation changes significantly, you are responsible for updating your profile or notifying GuidedD so we can pause or adjust your availability accordingly.
9. Feedback and Quality
Mentees may provide feedback after sessions. GuidedD uses this feedback to maintain quality across the platform. You will not be penalized for a single negative review, but patterns of dissatisfaction will be reviewed and addressed directly with you.
If we have concerns, we will usually reach out to you first. In serious cases, GuidedD may act immediately to protect mentees and the platform.
10. Changes to These Standards
GuidedD may update these standards as the platform evolves. We will notify active mentors of any meaningful changes. Continued participation on the platform after updated standards are communicated means you agree to those updates.
11. Questions
If you have questions about these standards or want to discuss a specific situation, reach out at [email protected]. We are a small team and we read every message personally.
